Discovered on the streets of her Northampton Shire home country by modelling scouts, Zimbabwe born Nyasha Matonhodze attended the casting of Elite Model Look Competition in her school uniform in 2009 and thereafter won the competition. Two years down the line she has walked in shows of various designers including Louise Gray, Clements Ribeiro, Jonathan Saunders, Loewe, Emanuel Ungaro and Jean-Charles de Castelbajac. She is currently the face of LouisVuitton.

The prestigious Elite Model Look is the largest search in the world, with a group clientele including Chanel, Dior, Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Versace, L’Oreal, Elle and Vogue amongst others. The competition is open to young beginners and has a professional goal, “looking for and discovering the young hopefuls that will become the future top models”
National castings are held in over 80 countries in the world each year, going over 350,000 contestants aged between 14 and 22. For the 28th consecutive year, Elite is holding another modelling contestand the search in Nigeria has began.
Elite representatives from Paris will select finalists in Lagos on August 16, 2011. The finalists will then be accommodated for a week in August and put through intensive grooming. They shall undergo fitness training, nutrition lectures, makeovers, professional photo sessions and a run-through of the finale. This training shall cover all the professional aspects of modelling. The Elite Model Look Nigeria 2011 event will take place at the Civic Centre, Lagos on September 3, 2011.

At least one contestant from each country selected at the National final will be given the opportunity to participate in the International final with $325,000 modelling contract to be won.

July 16th – LINCX BAR, BENIN CITY
July 30th – REHAB POOL LOUNGE, LAGOS
August 6th – TERMINAL BAR, ABUJA
The requirements for Elite Model Look castings are as follows:
- Nigerian citizen
- The age between 14 and 23
- At least 5’8 inches or 172cm tall
- Must have no signed contract with any agency in Nigeria (very important)
- Must be ready to travel abroad
- Must have genuine interest in a modelling career
- The winner of Elite Model LOOK International gets a modelling contract with Elite Model Management
- All expense paid trip to New York City
- Opportunity to represent Nigeria at Elite Model Look Finale in Asia 2011
- A chance to win 150,000USD at the International Finals
