Multi-media personality, Toke Makinwa has been named among Glamour Magazine South Africa’s top 9 Most Glamorous Women of 2020, making her the first and only Nigerian to make the list.
ICYMI, the magazine’s Most Glamorous Women Awards is an annual event that celebrates iconic South-African women each year. Due to 2020’s global pandemic, the magazine decided to acknowledge and celebrate 9 Pan-African women that caught their attention this year.
“Introducing a new direction for Glamour’s Most Glamourous, we have widening our scope to include our neighbouring countries in the prestige GMG list. This Pan-African approach means that we will be introducing to you more inspiring personalities from around Africa that are making waves in the continent. We thought of canning it all together because there hasn’t been much to celebrate in the past months,” Glamour SA wrote in a statement.
“These are individuals and personalities that have been hard at work during this difficult year and who have brought a bit of sparkle in our lives. Their work ethic is commendable and they deserve a pat in the back and some encouragement.”
The vlogger, beauty/fashion entrepreneur, and author took to her Instagram to share the good news, writing, “Lagos to South Africa 🇿🇦 Thank you @glamour_sa for the acknowledgment & Award. Truly honored to have made the list of the game changers of 2020.
