On Tuesday, there was a report from Bloomberg that the Nigerian government has allowed Dangote Cement to resume exports across its land borders despite the closure for over one year.

As soon as people on Twitter saw the images, they let loose with their opinions.

Some people just criticized the federal government’s move accusing them of driving inflation, while others pointed out that the billionaire businessman is an unethical capitalist.

A few, however, noted that the move has raised hopes that Nigeria may be opening up trade with neighbors after a year-long blockade. Recall that the authorities closed borders with neighbouring countries including Benin and Niger to curb smuggling and boost local production.
