Wizkid, Tems & ‘I May Destroy You’ Make Obama’s 2020 List Of Favorite Music/Movies & TV Shows
Former US President, Barack Obama is known for his great taste in pop culture and it definitely reflects in his recently released favourite songs, movies and TV series of the year 2020 which everyone can’t stop talking about.
The list of movies have been responsible for getting him through quarantine and from the list it’s a mix of interesting genres. For his top songs which was put together by his daughter Sasha Obama, he listed records like “Essence” by Wizkid featuring Tems, “Repeat” by J.Hus featuring Koffee, “Damage” by H.E.R. and “Savage” (Remix) by Megan Thee Stallion featuring Beyoncé.
“Here are some of my favourite songs of the year. As usual, I had some valuable consultation from our family music guru, Sasha, to put this together. I hope you find a new song or two to listen to,” he captioned on social media.

Meanwhile for his favorite movies and TV shows list, “I May Destroy You”, a British comedy-drama television series created, written, co-directed, and executive produced by Michaela Coel (Ghanaian-British), which also stars Weruche Opia (Nigerian-British), Paapa Essiedu (Ghanaian-British) made the list. The show has made huge success since its debut and it just closed out the year with Obama’s approval.
“Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom“, featuring Chadwick Boseman’s final performance, leads Obama’s list, which also includes “The Boys“, “Mrs America” starring Nigerian-American actress Uzo Aduba, “The Queen’s Gambit“, “Nomadland“, “The Good Place” and “Mank“.
Like everyone else, we were stuck inside a lot this year, and with streaming further blurring the lines between theatrical movies and television features, I’ve expanded the list to include visual storytelling that I’ve enjoyed this year, regardless of format. pic.twitter.com/a8BS8jDkSs
